Gifts of Cash

A gift of cash is a simple and easy way for you to make a gift.

IRA Charitable Rollover

An IRA charitable rollover allows individuals age 70½ or older to reduce their taxable income by making a gift directly from their IRA.

Donating appreciated securities, including stocks or bonds, is an easy and tax-effective way for you to make a gift to our organization.

Donor Advised Fund (DAF)

You can make gifts during your lifetime. When you pass away, your children can carry on your legacy of giving.

Donating appreciated real estate, such as a home, vacation property, undeveloped land, farmland, ranch or commercial property can make a great gift to our organization.

Gifts of Farm Interests

Donating your farm interests, including land, grain, machinery, livestock and your farm, is an easy and tax-effective way for you to make a gift.

Bequest

You designate our organization as the beneficiary of your asset by will, trust or beneficiary designation form.

Beneficiary Designation Gift

You designate us as a beneficiary of your retirement, investment or bank account or life insurance policy.

Retirement Plan Assets

Donating part or all of your unused retirement assets such as a gift from your IRA, 401(k), 403(b), pension or other tax-deferred plan is an excellent way to make a gift to our organization.

How We Invest Your Funds

As stewards of the community's funds, Community Foundation of Lorain County invests for the long term. Our portfolio is highly diversified and constructed to maximize return and minimize volatility. Investment Pools are designed to meet a range of philanthropic goals and time horizons.

Our Investment Committee, which is comprised of seasoned industry professionals, hires and reviews recommendations from a world-class investment advisory firm. Because your Fund is pooled with the more than $170 million in charitable assets under management, you have access to a greater number of charitable giving vehicles than otherwise available.
